Reana vs. Zaira | FD5916

I was attracted to this video by the belts each competitor was prominently displaying/holding in the photo set of the match. I found this most intriguing, especially when the video preview clip showed Zaira using the belt on her opponent Reanna. The match itself was very intense and fast paced, with the competitors rolling back and forth across the mat, off the mat and on to the hardwood floor, up onto the couch and then back down again to the mat/rug. The bout featured punishing scissors to the head, neck, midsection and over the breasts along with suffocating face-sitting pins and breast smothers. Following each submission the winner of the fall is allowed to lash her opponent's buttocks using the leather belt (usually about 6 strikes). On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 indicating a maximum level of force, I'd rate these strikes at about a 7.5. They definitely left a mark. Following the final submission, the winner positioned her opponent standing, facing the wall and delivered a total of 10 lashes (5 with each belt) to her victim's buttocks. For the happy winner a most satisfying victory. For the loser a very bitter and humiliating defeat, coupled with an extremely red and sore derriere.

A very surprising fight if you look at the development of the two fighters. I would have expected a more even fight.
One of the two was simply more committed and aggressive on this day and clearly dominated the fight. She overpowered her opponent and never gave her the slightest chance. The commitment and finesse with which the dominant fighter applied her holds was very impressive. Even if she is finally able to score a point, the inferior opponent is only on the defensive throughout the fight and is ultimately finished off. I love the submission at 29:24 - a submission hold couldn't be more humiliating and dominant.

Reana is real terrific!
